A Rose of Darkest Hue

A Rose of Darkest Hue

A Poem by Rebecca
"

A poem about differences and their effect, expressed in a unique way.

"

Set in silence, all alone,

a rose of darkest hue,

abandoned to the shadows,

yet noone saw... nobody knew,

Cast aside, unwanted,

an outcast of his kin,

never to know a normal life

for a misfit's all he's been,

I sorrow for what you've been through

when nothing you have done,

but you know not my black rose,

that you and I are one

Fantastic. I enjoyed reading it, as Ashford describes it flows quite nicely. While short and direct it still gives the reader something to think about.

I like this. Simple, stark, and gets its point across without being preachy.
