Anger surely is annoyance at something that might be logically sorted out. Rage, however, is illogical because it becomes uncontrollable, even maniacal. Big difference. It dilutes what should be the norm, yes.. even removes the power to breathe as should. more so, the power to rationalise. Perhaps?
Rage is most powerful when numbed by sadness, forgetting the feeling that encompasses suffocation, I still fight against it...
Even though the only solution seems to be breathing it.

well said. anger is a controlled response, rage is irrational, out of control and undoes itself. it is a powerful thing but only when it can be harnessed and reeled in for a purpose.

But rage is a firecracker and tends to explode itself away... It is HOT HOT HOT, and dangerous for an instant. I fear anger with its smoldering embers that never go out much more...
