I’m drawn to the famous lines on Bukowski’s grave of “don’t try” and I’ve often pondered what that really means.
I think it comes down to the idea of hope, which can be just as dangerous as trying itself. But I’m also realising that forcing things, rather than letting them unfold in a way that is natural and is within the flow of how things are supposed to progress can also be detrimental to life.
This makes a person think for so few lines and I really appreciated the brevity of the statement.
