I’m Going to Love Him in a Year

I’m Going to Love Him in a Year

A Poem by mae

I’m going to love him in a month.

I’m going to love him in a year.

I’m going to love him ‘till my bones don’t work and everything hurts

And even then I will love.

Because even though he’s not by my side,

He gave me memories of souls from past lives.

I saw our blood, sweat, and tears in his eyes.

And even though my love will never be enough,

Day after day, still I love.

So I love him even though he’s not here.

I love him even though he’s not coming back.

I love him because I know that, just like before, we will meet again.

In this lifetime or the next,

I’m going to love him in a year.

Enduring love, regardless of the passing of time. Nicely composed poem on the loss of a loved one.
