Beautilful, Part IIA Chapter by M GarciaThis ia three part editorial. The second part is about the Christina Aguilera song "Beautiful" and what I think it means.I think that it took a lot of courage for Christina Aguilera to do this song. If you have ever seen the video, you would know what I mean. She has so many different things going on in the video. She shows the things that society doesn't want to see and what they choose to ignore. There is a gay couple in the video. They are sitting down on a park bench and just ignoring the looks of disgust as the people around them are giving them. They are being try to themselves and that is the most important thing to remember: BE TRUE TO YOURSELF. With "Beautiful" Christina is trying to let everyone know that even though life can get you down, you should let it get you down. Each day is such a great day that it shouldn't matter what others think of you. That it shouldn't matter what others do to you. That as long as you are happy with yourself, that's all that should matter. Christina lets you know that she knows everyone speaks of her looks, but she doesn't care. She dresses the way she dresses to make herself happy, to make herself feel pretty. Like the big hair she wore to the VMA (Video Music Awards) & Grammy's one year. She was trying something new. She wanted to see if she liked it. One thing I don't think anyone realizes is that many of these child singers (Britney and Jessica Simpson) are usually managed by their parents and that when they get to a certain age they want to express themselves, not what their parents want them to express. They want to be role models, but it can be hard to be a role model when you are forced not to be able to dress in ways that are comfortable for you. I'm not saying that a lot of what they choose to wear is comfortable, but it makes them comfortable with themselves. Back to the song. I think that it is important for young girls to see that, yes you maybe overweight, but it is still all right for you to be yourself. For them to see that you are beautiful, no matter your size.
