Beyond The Fields

Beyond The Fields

A Poem by Justin Fearn

Beyond the fields, beyond the sky, I sit 'n I wonder why.

Why is the fight, why is the reason, why is the cause, the flaw in human emotion,
Why for the decay left from the human re·mains
Why for the pain for the families whom remain
Why for love, when love is lost
Why for hate when there was no debate
Why is the why, why I sit and cry...
Why do our governments send our children to die!

Why for the sick and twisted men, whom under banner do cry,
'this is the reason, this I the why, this is the fight; against a common collective'
'to keep us safe, for god be it true,
for this is the reason, it's the "right thing to do"'
Why oh why did I not wonder why, before I was sent to the fields to die,
Why are the ones those whom survive 'n prosper, are just but a few greedy mobsters.

Beyond the fields, beyond the sky, I still sit 'n I wonder why.
