No Rest with Fear

No Rest with Fear

A Poem by Justin Fearn

Confusion. Tears for my being, no rest; inner torment,

Sleep, wake, eat repeat, this medication stripping me bare,

With demons exposed, I fear the beast be released.

Am I awake, am I aware,

speak to me, I SAID LISTEN, I care!

I've never seen the strong feelings of inner tension put so concisely yet accurately before. The ending leaves something to think about. Nice write.

This is how I felt after a recent stay in hospital, thank you for taking the time to read it.
A lovely little emotive poem that conveys a sense of being lost and in emotional turmoil but wanting to be one who does good and brings love to the world.
