Accept

Maybe one day, one day I will.

Slowly but steadily

I’ve come to accept

What my eyes have been hiding,

 

And then

I’d come to accept

The feelings I was given,

 

And in the end

I’ve come to accept

The stone-cold reality.

I can see what you mean. It depends on whether you're a realist or idealist. Actually, I'm neither of them, I think the perfect world without any negative emotions simply does not exist. Think about it, our 'normal' world longs to the 'perfect' world, where everything is be perfect. Wouldn't the 'perfect' world long to our 'normal' world, then, or even something else? Life has given us negative emotions for a reason after all. If they really had caused a problem for humanity, natural selection would have got rid of them already.

Acceptance is the first step in moving forward with your life. It's one of the hardest things to do. I love this poem, it's very simple, but powerful.
