![]() Masks of HeartsA Poem by Miles W.![]() a poem about what happens when a heart is broken![]()
An heart can take days even weeks to full emerge in full bloom.
It only takes a second to break the heart. Mankind tries to be the benefactor of the heart. Poetry, stories, a lot of other wonderful, beautiful things. But a heart is the source of your emotions, not just love. Pain comes from the heart. Rage comes from the heart. I saw it in her. Her heart was broken. She walked the same, she talked the same. But everything has changed. Her heart was broken, and the mask took its place for the time being. Hearts house our emotions, masks imitate those same emotions. No one can know what a person is really feeling. The mask covers up everything. But I saw it. I saw her dying every day. She hid behind a mask of happiness and fellowship with her friends. But her heart was filled with rage and sadness. I know, because her mask was the same one I taught myself to wear. I still wear it from time to time. Because I have nothing left in my heart. Except my feelings for her, and blood and rage of crimson red.
