The man I want to be.

The man I want to be.

A Poem by M. Coleman
"

This is true in almost every situation in life. People speak nothings for truths they can't support.

"
a righteous road you wish for mejust what kind of man am I to be

do you want recognition for your deeds

or just to cover my eyes while you plant your seeds

to see is to know or so you would have me think

to be is to stand for something and not have to blink

quit feeding me your oaths like I'm to blame

quit patronizing my motives through your own shame

don't stand for something that you can't describe

speaking nothings for the facts you can't derive

shallow words for verses you can't recite

hallow fallacies for motives you can't make right

don't look at me with those sad eyes baby girl

it's not like you're going to lose yourself in this whirl

you can keep your bleak outlook of this life intact

hell, I'll even hold your hand while you take time to react

look at who we've all become around your ignorant eyes

that shallow heart pounding blood faster as you tell it more lies

it's not us who will answer for your sins child

for that to be true we'd simply cast you out into the
wild

no no it will be much more complicated than that you see

you can stray all you want, but I know the man I want to be

Simply soul thriving.
Loved the strong yet graceful spirit of your creation.
The fact that you wrote something quiet justified and true in a very faithful manner made it even more grasping.
Great work!
Nicely Written.
