Putting it in perspective

Putting it in perspective

A Poem by M J Hutton

 The oceans are rising

The ice caps are melting,

I’m stuck in the bookies

With an old bloke rambling.

A drought in Africa

The sub continent starve

I’ve bought some canesten

For the thrush on me knob.

The rain forests are dead

Dictators commit genocide

Arsenal have just won

I couldn’t give a toss.

The war on terror escalates,

Nuclear production in Iran,

I forgot my girlfriend’s birthday

She’s gonna go mad.

Gas emissions are destructive

The ozone layer wilts away,

I’m gonna phone in sick

Cos I had too much to drink.

A new virus may kill millions

A tsunami’s on the way,

I better get a pay rise

Or I’ll have a f*****g lot to say…
