Or comprehend,

Decipher,

Fathom,

Understand –

Why my feelings have waned

To the point of invisibility –

Under the stillness

Of a city sunset,

Why my feelings spiral,

With the golden orb star,

Whose energy and rays

Like my emotions for you,

Evaporate on the uneven horizon –

I just can’t explain –

 

I don’t comprehend,

How or why –

Once, not that long ago –

I held you in such awe

And esteem –

How I could look long

And hard at you, and it

Would hurt just to part –

How a prism of desolation

Would engulf and surround me

During your absence –

But not now –
