Mice

Mice

A Poem by Lysrie Mendez

Loathing smitten

O so gracious mouse

With a waterfall trailing

Light and heavy

Gushing guts and cycle debris of streetlights

With the warmth of a pleasure killing the nerve

And nearly a light

With the raise of a palm and the scream of the curls

This made the mouse heavy

Pleasure never seemed right after that

Come in peace and in age

The life was entered

But the high nose and the portrayal of supremacy kept it away

Until new year,

That was when the universe saw an opportunity.

And flirted with it.

Red cards were exchanged

Red lipstick was worn

And eventually in misfortunate fortunate events

Red blood was shed.

And the mini was blessed
