I can change...

I can change...

A Poem by Indra's Child

I can change...
You like to inform me,
I need to,
Through the lull of your sharp speech,
Like a song melodized to a child,
In the throws of a sick fever dream.
Am I unshaken by the weight thrust upon my soul,
Enough to never be mistaken, my smile, for the bliss of ignorance?
Will I forever let the harmony of your demonizing glare hypnotize,
Deprive me, keep alive my viciousness towards authority?
Your nails digging into my neck like a shovel uprooting clay,
Your tongue lashing my cheek like a 9 possessed,
By the hand of one new to remission,
And nevertheless,
You never let me breathe until I reply,
With your own word.
