Reduction

Reduction

A Poem by Indra's Child

Take me, reframe me

On doctrine etched in stone do you rely

Take me, shame me

But the spirit in my body never lies

So all the words you've said to me,

I'm broken, crazy, cannot see

Are shed as flesh gets left when we die

And all the scars that I've sustained,

All the love that I've maintained,

I will my legacy to be peace and pride

Woman, woman- reduced to ashes and anatomy

Prison, prison- I don't know how yet but I need to leave

Sell me, hoard me-

Keep me in your dirty basement, thoughts of moving onward deceased

 ( will become your trophy)
Save me, kill me-

Strip me of the things that make me me, and don't say

Woman, woman- you are mine, and worth what I call you

Prison, prison- a cage of gold to keep you safe

(nothing left for anyone to want)
