Because You Love Me

Because You Love Me

A Poem by Indra's Child

Is it personal?
Love does not have to be personal
Maybe, I think, unsure of my footing,
It is because you drink me like
Rain
Is taken in
By flowers

Or because I live for your gaze?
As one looks onto flowers,
Discerning if they are good enough,
Do they catch the eye well?
Is that love?

Is it reciprocal, this dance?
Into nothingness?
And is it,
Just maybe,
Because you love me back?
