Little Girl

Little Girl

A Poem by Indra's Child
"

Song I wrote about being consistently seen as a child through the lens of toxic masculinity. About rape, intellectual exclusion, and male rigidity. Laugh if you want, I did.

"
Little girl, why don't you come over here?
I can show you the ropes
Things you never thought you'd fear
Little girl, I thought you weren't so young
And now I want you to prove yourself to me

Little girl, it's been years too long
Since the last time you screamed
Since you knew right from wrong
Little girl, I thought you'd never come back
Digging through the dirt to find somewhere to be

Little girl,
You're not on my level
Very unstable
You fucked the devil
Little girl
You fight with no angle
Think you're an angel
Little girl

Little girl, let time have it's way
There's nothing to die for
You can't speak about change
Little girl, wisdom on my lips
I berate you lovingly but I can't see

Little girl,
You're not on my level
Very unstable
You fucked the devil
Little girl
You fight with no angle
Think you're an angel
Little girl

I just want to wake up from the dream. "Hi. It's me. I know you're out there. I can feel you now. I imagine you can also feel me. You won't have to search for me anymore. I'm done running. Done hid.. more..
