Brighter FutureA Poem by Indra's ChildA lack of experience is a sum of ignorance...
Born into objectivity
My brainwashed peers subside 2000 was the breaking point for generational cyanide Progression has it's place Fleeting from our face From yours truly, one of Y2K And a student of the times. Streets and internet, my school Educated in my own way The bums will always lose, Yet this dropout never paid. Anonymous we stand, On the banks of the river damned Awaiting our mission Nuclear fission The dawn of a very long day. Attention! Deficit, obey! Pills to disable my will... With the freedom to sit, beg, and stay- -as long as I have skills to run the rat race. In 2001 2,996 still stick Because bricks break bones But c4 explodes My parents were ashamed to have a one-year old. The son of a cop and a protester, I was thrust into the reign of error -of stupid men with guns, I learned to distrust badges when I was very, very young. Not hard to bank my name, Because I was assigned a number The receipt of my birth Printed not of earth But of a globally corporate state -in short, I belong to a marginal stock exchange. The dollar signs in your eyes Tell me your windows are only mirrors, Teeming with ignorant fears Subject to resentment, subjective to the years. Drinking bleach flavored like rose Revolution grabs my soul Our problem is of a solution- Chemically imperfect, Crimson, toxic, charred tar From blacktops to roads The playground of poison Where the concrete phoenix arose. © 2016 Indra's ChildReviews
