Never Thought

I recently found out that a friend (who will remain unnamed) had been sexually and physicaly abused for 4 years. This is her story.

A story I wished I couldn't tell

Never thought

It would be me

 

My father died

When he held me

I was only three

 

Soon my mother

Got over it

Got a new boyfriend

 

But as I could

Plainly tell

I wouldn't be the same again

 

My mother hit me day and night

The boyfriend abused me too

It was a fate worse than death

One I would never wish on you

It was hard in 3rd grade

Knowing I was the only

Non-virgin

 

Soon I realized

Enough is enough

So I told my counsler everything

I never saw the pair again

 

Soon I lived in a new house

With a new family

One who really really cared

For their daughter and for me

 

But soon, very soon

I knew I had to leave

I moved houses for a year

A total of seventeen

 

Now I have lived with my family
For a whole six years

Loving and laughter

Crying and tears

I am safe

Now

 

A story I wish I couldn't tell

Oh gosh how it pains me to read this... it hard to fathom how people can abuse kids, mentally, physically and especially sexually... a very powerful and moving piece.
