Hope

I am a singer as well as a poet, and I have been shot down so many times, like not making it to national honors choir, not getting lead roles in plays, etc. This shows that there is still hope for me.

Many times in my life

There has been no sign of hope

No light in the darkness

No island in the sea

Not one helping hand

Reaching out to grab me

No friend to call

No Mom to hold

And through all of this

I had to be bold

And with persistance

I stayed strong

I live another day

Another hour long

I'm not down yet

I'm still fighting

As long as I have

Hope.

 

They say what dosen't kill you makes you stronger.  Boy, if that were the truth, I would be able to lift a car.
