Sated ConfessionsA Poem by Lyrical TempestA sad love poem about a man whose wife died slowly from an illness. Is the conduit broken? Can a single tear travel that far? Like prayers at night?
The stars that decorate the night sky Are the tears from heaven that never fully made it down Frozen and suppressed
Then the rain attacks the ground Bringing me solace as I stand in between Each of us shedding an equivalent tear
I’m … I’m needing so much of you Yet I can’t hug a tear So I stay hooked to the night sky
I don’t know which held my breathe more Your staggering form when it was caressed by the beautiful moonlit glow or Your feminine statuette when it was radiated by the sunlight rays
Memories coat what is left of my passion Placing mounting taxations on my compassion No this pain isn’t’ a temporary fashion to be ceded
Pinning I’m… A feign trying to feed my addiction of you An artist trying to refurnish the sculpture that is us
No longer three dimensional I find myself out of my materials Purloined of you No wonder the casting is bleak
I watched as you took on a transient segment Against both our wills So I was left picketing against the ghost I was left with
Now I’m beyond a ruin for any other Like a pen without any ink I’ve lost my substance
I’m a faded painting Robbed of my luster It was your love
Tender Unconditional Free from form
That set us up as an art Never to be unveiled Just privately beheld
No price Or valuation system could have measured us We were beyond a rating system
We were simply us
So I’m left with a vacancy that won’t be filled Lest they’d be like a low bid at an auction Whose value would fail come near © 2011 Lyrical Tempest |
