A Poem by Taylor

scars from trips and falls

experiments with gravity
puffy cheeks, tired eyes
curious eyes
inspired eyes

a face that changes like the shore
emotions that ripple over it, erasing the last

a scarred lip that cages words

the left arm with a heart

the pulse that slivers out of the fingertips

something downtrodden, but hopeful like a phoenix
something insecure, questioning
something sensitive, affected by the landing of a fly
something sparking, wanting cataclysmic change

the soul of
nostalgic sunshine
hope
freedom
grievance for the grieving

so many wishes
to be beautiful, to be an artist, to be a writer
to be loved by everyone

to be loved
not to be left
to love

to love
to help
to want
to change
