Still

Still

A Poem by Taylor

I have never seen your eyes so pure
Since the day you left me
Never seen a smile so tight-lipped
Or heard a voice with such conviction
I could feel the planets between us

But you were so much like a statue and
Even my sobs could not produce sympathy
You laughed, and I deserved it
It’s time to go
It was inevitable.
Why?

My heart became the crust of the Earth
With dormant magma that
Spurts through these volcanoes
when he makes me smile
it’s been a while, I am still not over it
I still see the decision in your eyes
I’d rather not look
