my humbert humbert and i

my humbert humbert and i

A Poem by lynne1313
"

I swear I was 18.

"

you’ve got a lexus

the town says you’re rich

must be--you own half

of it.

recently divorced

with a daughter, you’re

old enough to be

my father. but

you sit here, sending

innuendos my

way. hey

honey, let me drive

you home, take you out

to dinner-i’ll pay.

your lips taste of gin,

of cigarettes and

marital regrets.

there's abilify

by the kitchen sink.

you tell me, sugar

f**k a man who loves

you.

i hold you when

you cry.

i didn't expect the ending of this...but it works on so many levels...she is not just eye candy for his bed and on his arm....he needs her in some ways more than she ever needed him.

About
Just writing in my spare time--which I have admittedly little of. Probably too cynical to be original and too practical to be published. Appreciate any feedback I receive on here. more..
