Word-Dancing With God

Word-Dancing With God

A Poem by Ruth Y. Nott

I’ll never hold you in my arms

as I would a mortal man,

But through the words you give me

         beside you I can stand.

I’ll never waltz or jitterbug

         with you my partner bold,

But through the words you give me

I can see our dance unfold.

With your steady hand to guide me,

         my steps are always sure,

A rhythmic celebration of

your love so fine and pure.

My words tap dance across the page,

         so joyous their behavior,

As I reach out to take the hand

         of my dance master,

                       Lord and Savior

Wow! What a remarkable celebration of your feelings towards the Lord. This is simply wondeful and filled me with joy.

An excellent poetical and joyous composition of praise. I was reminded of this passage, when we were promised our 'dance party'!

Jeremiah 31:4 (New International Version)

4 I will build you up again
and you will be rebuilt, O Virgin Israel.
Again you will take up your tambourines
and go out to dance with the joyful.

God's Blessing
