Sunlight

Sunlight

A Poem by lydie

The sun, a majestic force,
drives back the monsters of night
and as the world, your country
city
home
room
floods with light.
The sun is like a brave knight,
with golden armor and a blue diamond sword.
With each slash he takes,
beautiful blue sky overtakes the dark,
and with each step he takes,
warm yellow light overpowers the silver while he charges out the horizon.

The sun, a primordial power,
both helps us and doesn't.
With each rise of it
comes newly found strength
energy
joy
hope,
but with each sunrise also comes
the stop of that beautiful, blissful, peaceful rest
that all humans, all living things, need.

The sun is the noblest, most modest thing in all of the Earth. All of life depends on the rise and fall, the reliable way that you that every day, it will float upwards and drop. It drives back darkness and fear, but even the most powerful warriors need rest.
