Chapter 11: Viridi ForestA Chapter by lydie
Rachel and Izzie and Faber were finally at the edge of Viridi Forest. It had taken a long time. Rachel had changed into a horse while the duffel bag was still on her shoulder, and the duffel bag strap was fastened loosely around her long, strong neck as she galloped on tirelessly. Her horse form was an Arabian horse with a reddish dark brown top, and her legs were a lighter shade of that color. After galloping and trotting at the forest's edge for at least a day, they had to get over a fence and through security, since it was the most protected forest in the whole world. Rachel had just now changed into a human, and sighed in relief.
Rachel went deeper and deeper into the forest. Birds shrieked, a tan alpha wolf had shown itself for a second to sniff at the 3 newcomers, and even a fox had come up and brushed itself against Rachel's leg. Rachel could understand all of them. The birds kept screeching, "Who dares to come here!" "Oh, it is a magic human!" "Ooh, is she friend or foe? "Should we take flight or fight?" Rachel sighed. The wolf had growled before barking back at his pack, "It is okay. There is a bird, a dog, and a magic girl. They won't hurt us." The wolf sniffed again, and the rest of the pack showed themselves. There were 8 wolves in the pack in total. Izzie whined and stared up at Rachel pleadingly. "Go on Izzie! Go see if you can join their pack!" Rachel encouraged. Izzie barked a quick thanks, and disappeared in the green leafed trees with the pack. Faber chirped, "Can I go and see the bird flocks, since we're going to stay here anyway." Rachel nodded, and Faber instantly took to the skies. Rachel, now all alone, shifted the weight on her shoulder. She kept going into the middle of the forest, and found a small creek that ran through a smallish medium egg shaped clearing around a big tree. Rachel threw her bag down and washed her face with the cold, clear water. Rachel then stood up and pointed at the nice, tall, big, strong and sturdy tree in the middle of the clearing and willed the image in her mind to come to life. Strong, green, vine stairs weaved in and out, in and out, to form a spiral staircase around the trunk. At the top, a wooden and bark tree house formed with a flash and it even came with windows. Rachel trembled. She picked her bag up again and walked up the stairs, and into the house. It was a 3 bedroom tree house. One cozy little living room, a bathroom, and Rachel's bedroom. Rachel opened the door to her room and collapsed on the soft bed. She instantly fell asleep and dreamed she was a trapped, scared hamster, that escaped from her mis treating owners and morphed into a strong, wise, bald eagle. When Rachel woke up, it was night time. She crawled out of bed and peeked out through the window. It was a cloudless night, a million and one stars twinkling endlessly. A big and bold silver full moon stared back at her. Knowing she wouldn't be able to go back to sleep, Rachel crept out from her room and swung the door closed. Izzie was fast asleep on the soft green living room carpet, and Rachel could practically see the Moon Howl Pack's scent on him, rising like steam with her keen animal senses. "So you made it into the pack, huh." Rachel whispered. Rachel could also see Faber, his head backwards and his beak tucked into his back feathers, on the curtain rod. The curtains were fluttering softly in the slight breeze. Rachel slunk off outside and closed the mahogany door behind her, the handle leaving a small splinter in the palm of her hand. Rachel walked down the long flight of stairs down onto the grass. As Rachel stepped off the last step, all content and happy with a spring in her step, and stepped in the grass, a purple and white flower appeared after her. "It's beautiful." Rachel murmured. When Rachel crouched to touch one of it's petals, she instantly knew all the facts and the name of it. "Lisianthus." Rachel whispered. Rachel knew, that that was her new name. A new hime, new companions, new life, new name. It was also good since she could also have a nickname, Sia. "I am happy now. No one will disturb that peace." She said firmly.
