Chapter 6: The RunA Chapter by lydie
"Oh God, Iz they're coming, they're coming, they're com-" Rachel hyperventilated, only to be silenced by Izzie's sharp bark. Rachel didn't dare to look behind her, but could hear the heavy footsteps of the police. Suddenly they heard shrieking, screaming, and screeches. Izzie and Rachel came to a screeching halt and turned. The policemen had scratches on their face, blood running down the thin gashes. The cause of this was many birds and their sharp talons. Rachel also saw a lumbering black bear slowly going towards them. 'Their helping me...' Rachel thought in awe and wonder. But Rachel couldn't bear to have these men that were just doing their duty, die.
"STOP!" Rachel yelled. Instantly the birds found perches on trees, the black bear stood on his hind legs, his head cocked to the right, staring at Rachel. Izzie backed up a step from Rachel. Though, a male white black and brown kite landed on Rachel's shoulder. The bird shrieked to back Rachel up, and Izzie instantly got jealous. Izzie moved toward Rachel and snarled even louder than the bird. "Police men, you are just doing your duty. I respect that. But send this message to your comrades and other people that want to track me down-" The kite bird chirped and bobbed his head. Izzie growled and first looked at the bird, then at the men. Rachel shot Izzie a stern no-jealousy-not-right-now look. "I will not take kindly to be tracked down, hunted, and killed like so many poor animals. I will spare your life right now from him, the bear behind you. Now leave!" Rachel shouted in a forced, confident, clear voice. Almost all of the men left. 1 man stayed and sneered. "What if I don't want to? What are you going to do? You're just a little, scared girl." The man jeered. The bear growled. Izzie snarled. The kite on her shoulder screamed. The birds in the trees shrieked. The man winced. "I have a gun. I think I can take on a couple of animals." The man said. "What about me?" Rachel snapped her fingers, though she had no green energy left. She didn't expect anything to happen, but prayed for a miracle. And a miracle came. Her clothes changed from soggy, dirty blue and green clothes to a beautiful, green, silk leggings and long-sleeved shirt. A long, flowing cape seemed to grow out of the shoulders. Izzie's limp disappeared and another green booty appeared that also seems to grow out of the grass. To make a long story short, the brave man ran away. © 2015 lydie |
