Whisper's of the Universe

Whisper's of the Universe

A Poem by mockingbird shadow

The universe is like gently whispered words,

Its secrets kept forever from the inquiring minds of humanity.

There are those who cannot hear and live in ignorance

And those faintly hear the sound and guess at what it’s saying.

They strain there ears in the hopes of finding the answers,

To their many questions

While those completely deaf to it laughed at the foolish humans,

And lived their life in their ignorant bliss

Farther and farther they grew apart,

Those wild beasts, for they knew nothing.

And those foolish human for with their knowledge

chased after answers that would never be given.

And the very God, who out of boredom and sudden

inspiration created all of these creatures,

Grew bored at these creatures of constant,

Always looking for the same answers

Left to create something else

Only leaving his whispering words behind,

The sweet song of his creation

So the people are left always striving for the answers,

As the want for more knowledge, the root of all evil

And the wild beasts who laugh at them and their foolish ways

Why are we here, why do we exist?

What meaning do our lives hold?

Are the questions we ask when we hear this whisper.

The infinite knowledge we are forbidden.
