Hope

Hope

Hope

Hope is a double edged blade

causing both joy and pain

acting as both friend and foe

It gives you temporary happiness,

Until it’s gone, leaving only an empty feeling

Most believe that it’s only good, but they are mistaken

For every thing has two sides

The falseness of hope is often not seen

Pain of false hope blinding you so you can’t see the darkness

Realizing the uselessness of hope

drives you into a deeper pit of despair

Causing insanity,

but also keeping you sane

Taking pain and making it bearable

Giving you faith in something better

Helping you mend dreams after they’re broken

Helping you to believe in life and its worth

Hope like many things, is double edged

I love this one! haha, it starts out happy, and then the floor falls out, and then just when you're wondering what sort of pessimistic poem this is, it comes back like a boomerang.

this would make a great live reading. The duality of nature laid bare against the breath of hope... well done and welcome to the cafe.

Most brilliant and powereful lines you can use in angery poetry!
