Is it perfect, did I get it right?
Missing pieces, relatable feels.
Sweaty palms, panic, fright.
Heart jumps back, chest reels.

Incomplete, forever it will be,
blinded by the daunting fear.
No one’s work, is mastery,
others judge it, don’t you see?

Self improvement guide’s,
our next steps towards,
the best self versions,
as we move forward.

Waiting for approval,
justified by the few,
who never truly,
understand you.

They say less is more,
but there is more in less,
so how do you choose your words?
To not be left with regret!

My words are for the amateurs,
critics step aside,
together our words will flourish,
together we realize.

Get it out the door, they
say you only live once.
Continue writing more,
go on inspire on!

well done...and write on!

This writing expresses the struggle with self doubt and concern about rejections, (even the most experienced writers feel that), followed by an idle threat toward criticism and then ends with bravado intending to inspire. When we are just starting out, we tend to over explain. We want everyone to understand. This seldom has the intended effect we desire. 'Empty qualifiers' detract our flow of thought and have the effect of leading the reader by the hand through our train of thought. Eventually we learn to boil down the fat and serve meat. We may add a little spice and adorn the plate for a pleasing presentation but, as you say, less is more. Skip the doubt and posturing. Expound on the positive concept of the last stanza. That little nugget IS the meat. But first, we the readers, have to fight our way through all the unpleasing garnish. Secondly,(Important Inspiration Here), critics don't bother saying anything, if they see no potential of helping. I've been on this site since I started writing in 2012. Those who say, "That's nice." add no help, except to ego. I learn from critical comments. I remember because (at first) it hurts and then I think about how to improve. I do a web search on things they say, (like Empty Qualifiers). My skin gets thicker. With time, I learn to separate the teachers from the a******s. When I read someone's *WORK* I try to give positive feedback. Sometimes, that leaves me with nothing to say. I commented on this, keep writing.
