6am in july

A Poem by semisomna

the bitter taste of morning in my mouth
from the night's previous drinks and cigarettes
your lips left a hint of shame
and the sour taste of regret
would i've been better off in my bed alone
in my head alone
wake up clean, eyes wide open
i think i'd better leave before you wake

this is great stuff...we've all been there; at least the lucky ones...now we have an anecdote for when we look back on our youth. it's raw and gritty without mercy, totally truthful. it puts a mischievous smile on my face. thanks for sharing.
