Chapter 1- The Game

Chapter 1- The Game

A Chapter by luxa333

My hands slid down the railing of the stairs, on the second floor of my three story house. i slid the window open across from the stairs landing. I bit my lip and tossed my right leg out of the window, throwing my backpack over my shoulders. I slid my other leg out and then lowered my self to the ground. I noticed a flaw in my plan when i realized i had left the window wide open. When i turned back to the window it slammed closed and the loosened my grip and i fell into the bushes below.
I gritted my teeth in fear that my mom would wake up and lock me up in my room. I didn't hear anything so i pulled myself up and slid my feet onto the ground. I loved m,y mom but she really doesn't understand me. she wants me to be a lawyer and hates the fact that i'm into soccer. she thinks that i should quit so that i will focus on my school work more. "A three point five is utterly unacceptable!" she would shout when i brought home my report card.
I jogged down the driveway and up the road a few blocks before reaching into the back pocket of my shorts and pulling out some money to pay for my bus ticket across town. The bus pulled up at the stop and i climbed on. The bus driver stared at me with no feelings at all. I attempted a smile and put my money in the container. I glanced around and finally took a seat in the back where i saw someone who looked like they were headed for the Championship league tryouts.
The girl looked up at me and seemed almost angry that i had decided to sit near her. at first i tried to muster a smile but it came up looking confused. I looked away from her burning eyes and started to remove my jewelry. She must just see me as competition.
The ride felt long even though i knew that it only took about 35 minuets. I stared out the window and began to worry about what i was doing. What if my mom woke up and found me gone? What if i didn't make the team or made a complete fool of myself? then this whole thing would be for nothing! i shut out those thoughts and began to stare out the window and watch the scenery go by.
