Favourite Girl

Favourite Girl

A Poem by Lakshmi Ramesh
"

To all the moms there are

"
Months and months I waited
To come to this world and begin
Begin not to live but to love and be loved
By the only who took pains for me from within
Her huge hand engulfed mine
My tiny fingers finally warm
Warmth and shelter from this world divine
Shelter from life's storms
Years went by with each other
Trying to understand who we both are
Making mistakes along the way
Hurting and loving equally you can say
Now we're at crossroads
One where we're both unsure
Don't what the future holds
Waiting for the waves to take us ashore
Amidst all this uncertainty I'd like to say
Never will I give up or ever stay away
May get old, wrinkly and grey
But she'll be my favourite girl forever I can say

Relationships at all ages have challenges. It's how we deal with them and move on that makes the difference. True love can overcome many issues in life. Very beautiful and well written.
