Dusk and Dawn

Dusk and Dawn

A Poem by luvvinblue

Dusk and Dawn

At dusk, the sky sigh,

Swallowing the remnants of lights

As the world fall into stillness she can almost touch

Her hands hover the pages with spilled inks,

Printed with words that’s been weighing her thoughts and thousands of work undone

In this four corners of her life,

The wall closing in like silent sentinels

For she thought that the heather-bells won’t come thorough

Nor an angel would fetch his last hanging strength

Her desk is agony

Scattered fragments of a non-living yet non-dying

If she could say no more, would the difference matter?

would she obliged the sharp pain and quickly ends her eyes despair

Lazy begotten to dissolve one’s choice to move and choose

The air feels too heavy by the words she hasn’t said

It was louder than this empty room" the voices in her head

You are not enough, You’ll never get it right.

Dusk whispers doubts that paints the room in shadows.

Where the fear hides amidst the crowds height,

And the judging became a stale matter.

The sky bruised with the death of the day, sinks beneath the horizons

Mirror a mesmerizing sight of an end.

Staring at the clock as if willing it to slow

The mountains of papers piled up, demanding an answer she can never give

At dusk, there is no easy way out

Only the cold truth of how much she still has to face

How many hand was willing to lend,

How much time she needs to earn,

How many nights she needs to endure.

She writes.

She reads.

She learns to stop.

She breath in the rhythm of the day and the horror of the midnight’s cry

She had friends, once

Dreams that danced like a wildflower that abide the desert trance

Slipped into an arched demise of something" her soul

It’s a flame trembling in a cold winds of everything she’d lost

Everything she feared she’d never find again

The night stretches out,

Wrapped in it’s quite embrace

Find a moment to listen

She hears the heartbeat of the world in harmony

Leading her to a place unknown to her

That’s when the dawn finally breaks

Not with a sudden rush of lights

But with a sudden persistence with a pale grow creeping across the morning sky

Shifting the world back to where it belongs

The dark did nor disappear,

It simply gives way to something new

In a soft light of the early morning, she knew the changes it made

The deep breaths of the fortnight

that still lingers up until the very last night

Dawn doesn’t ask her to forget what has been done

Nor does it demand a rush

She began to piece her back together

Slowly, painfully like a torn fabric of your most treasured prize

She reached for her dreams again,

Those wildflowers buried deep

They didn’t bloom overnight but the roots were still there,

Waiting for her to tend them with gritted-teeth

It must be a thing between her and subtler day colors

The weight of today might still be there ‘till tomorrow

But now she knows how to carry it

Not in a perfect sweep but in sturdy passion to pursue

But when the world feels to heavy to move

When the night feels like a strange karma

She remembers that dawn is inevitable,

Then after every darkness,

There is a light that is quietly, steadily refuses to give up on her.
