Letting Go of Almost

Letting Go of Almost

A Poem by luvvinblue

He walked through the world as if it bend to meet him

Every step echoes, she can’t help but to chase

For a long time, he were her orbits and she spun herself around

As if his name was written on margins inside her mind

That’s how it is

She woven the dreams out of his indifference

To turn every small kindness into a promise

And every smile into a vow

Chances are small gateway she never noticed

She justify this folly that’s mocking her

Pretending? Must be.

Cause he was too hot to touch yet too cold to resist

She seeks for glance and a cold one she gets

She pleads for a touch but her hands was timid

She gave him the pedestal he never asked for and climb on it

Looking for place where she truly belongs

He was the character she drew on her paper

The prince, so charming, so grand and will never reach

She tucked it away under her pillow

With the melody of endless wishes

Nevertheless, she still hoped.

Yet  hope can be heavy when you are the only one holding it.

And love, when it’s unreturned, isn’t love at all.
It’s a dream you cling to until it starts to choke you.

It was stagnant, misty night

Resently cut so deep

She was gone, to the extent of this crime

Started to get lost on her own pace

The groom left hanging beside the giant psyche

Echoes were a trigger and questioned their existence

Voices in despair grew outnumbered and was less in a jury

The one who looks through me, past me,
as if I’m a whisper
too soft to matter.
The one who laughs louder
for someone else’s jokes,
who leans closer
to someone else’s warmth.

She stood on the edges of his light,

and she felt the weight of it all

The quiet ache of wanting

An invisible string that tied her heart to someone

Who didn’t even know it was there.

The night grew deeper as her decision fuels and ignite"

not with resentment,
but with a still, resolute strength that only silence could carry

She let him go,
not in anger,
but in love"
love for herself,
for the girl she was becoming,
the girl who deserved more than what he could give.

She taught herself to ignore

To be unbothered by the lingering questions and mumbles

Beneath the stares and endless pouring rain,

She folded the memories gently,

Like a fragile paper and tucked them away.

She scratched out what she draw,

Now the paper is empty,

Void of black and white

A space crossed out for an another chance to gain for herself

Thus, she felt free and light

This is not a story of loss.
It’s a story of finding"
finding herself in the space
he never filled,
and learning that her worth
was never tied
to how brightly he shine
