much ado about about something

much ado about about something

A Poem by Jennifer Welker

i became
close to a stranger
and saw
constellations in crimson

when
all the perfect stars
found themselves
aligned

when
all the dreams
came true
and
i watched them fade to grey

and

the world became
my
very
own

technicolor romance

I'm going to be completely honest. I read the first stanza and thought 'holy s**t, this is going to be incredible', but after reading the rest I was kind of disappointed. The first stanza set me up for more than what was delievered. I'd scrap the rest and have the entire poem as the first stanza. On its own, it's impecable.
