open your eyes

just a thing I got talk about

open your eyes,

don't try to walk, put in

another stride in their walk

with a blind fold on your eyes!

all am saying is look a little closer.

what is behind that act?

I know you wont agree with me,

but I care not because am standing on my two legs

and they are not buckling just yet!

they will hold up until I have finished telling my story.

so this banana saga going!

what you got say?

I bet you are all up for it,

taking selfies eating a banana in your mirror

I bet that "#we are all monkeys" is not missing when

you are posting it on social media.

I know you think you are doing your part

to stop the "racism"

but why does that have to be your part?

why not concentrate on educating yourself

on what lies underneath all the selfies, all the media, the attention

that you get when you post that selfies??

think about it,

what did Dani do when the banana was thrown at him?

he ate it and continued on his business!

that was the best reaction he could have given to that

and if the media had not blown it out of proportion,

there would be no #we are all monkeys trend,

there would be no "cool tee shirts" selling on that  trend!

but people would still be thinking of it, even the person

who threw it would look stupid and rethink his acts because he/she got the

reaction they never anticipated.

its just all a business and even before you think

of jumping onto the band wagon, think what you are doing.

I know you do it out of good heart and I too I would that's the reason

why I am writing this, but don't start taking photos eating bananas,

that's bad change because you are giving racists the reaction they want.

they just need attention. what the banana eating selfies trend it doing,

"its all talk no show" because even the racists will post

the pictures just hiding under clear day light.

change can only start with you..#

but what kind of change are you bringing?

think about it..

You absolutly capture evereything that happens over there, at the pitch. You've remind me of Martin Luther King jr and his powerful speech. If that should be their case, they need a strong poem like your's. You've done well. This a poem all need to read.
