yeh this is for parents who are expecting students back home with results.

 

 receive me back,

just as usual..

open the door and plant a soft kiss on my cheek

offer me those nice smelling cookies of yours

 

dont send me back please,

try to understand 

let the door open, and i will walk in

with my results in my hand

 

i know i didnt hit that mark

you needed me to,

but that doesnt mean i wont hit it

the next time

 

i understand you are cross

not because you are pushy

but because you want the best for me

but just dont create a path for me

all i ask of you is

prepare me for any path.

A student's sentiment...like what I usually hear from some of my students. They are being suffocated by the high expectations of their parents from them...that they afraid they cannot reach. Remember, parents are always expecting the best from us and dreaming the best for us. Just be honest and tell them what you can- your strengths and weaknesses- so that they will not expect too much from you. I know they will understand...because I am a parent, too.
