the rythmatic sound

the rythmatic sound

A Poem by luviva

the sound that i grew used to

the rythm that played along my song

thats if life is a song

forced to join the choir

that choir that i wouldn't have joined

only if the choir stage

was a few miles away from my village!

i ran,

ran away from it all

but no, my legs could not take me to safety

no where was safe.. not when they needed more

choir members to play the instruments

thats if guns are instruments

i produced that sound..

it became the work of my hands

forced to play the instruments when i didnt want to

i became part of it

my destiny decided by the choir leader

i was in no position to make my own decisions

but follow those given by the superior

my life depended on my willingness to cope

forced to kill my beloved ones

only to apease themselves

they laugh as they see me shed tears

not knowing what to do

only 7 years old but carrying responsibility of a 30 year old...

ok.. this is not from experience because some of you might think that i really fought in a civil war. it is always easier for me to write in the person's perspective like it was really me out there in the fields. this thought came to me one day when the fireworks were going on outside my auntie's house during a party. i was in the upper bedroom and i could see them hit the skys and then the sound clicked into my brain en looking back at the civils wars going on in the AFRICA with CHILD SOLDIERS increasing day by day i thought i could voice their feelings. hope you all love it!

i really love it, how can i not while it carries such a message of peace and saving lives? as a person from the what is called the third world, let me try to explain how it is going. the leaders in Africa are just puppets moved by superior leaders in the developped western countries. unfortunately, most of the African countries are still under colonization. modern colonization is worse because you cant decide who is with and who is against you. the leaders of the developped countries want African countries to be always as they are now although they pretend to be against it. this helps those leaders to trade weapons which is the best trade in our world now. if peace revails all over the world, what would happen to weapons factories in the developped countries? that is why those developped countries try to keep the situation as it is. they threaten the African leaders of being unseated if they become not loyal to them..it is a really complicated issue, the solution must come from the African people themselves. if they dont get aware, they will continue their lives as it is now for ever. South African people led by Nilson Mandila could overcome racial discremination. if the people of South Africa didnt do that, they would have lived all their lives facing that racial descrimination. i hope the other African countries people would learn from that lesson because they are losing both their natural resources and their own lives for the sake of greedy politicians!
thank you for the nice sweet writing..

Thanx to you luviv, for writing so beautifully and thought provokingly!
How very interesting that your development stage of life guided your resistence to learn music and to play and instrument as a child, just a fascinating account, thanks.
