dressed to the ninesA Poem by Aura Inannathe day is done, my dear, in your diamond studded dresshey Bloody Mary, dressed in red she may be pretty, it’s her eyes that said “stare deeper darling, what do you see?” a black-scale cobra, coming for me eyes like diamond, skin like gold when she falls a little, it’s her ropes that show she gets a lot of heat but she’s playing for keeps her ice cream melts to the coldest beat hey little baby, dressed in black a sleek white runner on a government track a pretty little purchase paid with an act sit down baby, there’s no going back i heard her dice melt, shatter like glass it takes a long time, tracing the path she had a pitch black wedding, going too fast the ballroom floor was a thing of the past hey Bloody Mary, dressed in red her eyes still shine but she's as good as dead a nice tall glass, cracked down the back her little white crime paid twice as bad she pulled her dress on, dancing to Stones she dimmed the lights down, Sympathy drones not a head in this place isn't a waste there goes a cool dark lady covered lace i heard her cards burn, covered in ash i felt her heart learn, this is the past a long light shadow leaving the door a deep red stain on my dining room floor© 2013 Aura InannaAuthor's Note
