Brother Kris

Brother Kris

A Poem by Drew
"

Loss of a SL Brother!

"

Today we lost a new friend who passed to a better place
no longer for us to say hello my friend and see his face
Dear God, take care of Kris our brother whom is with you
we miss our friend that you call home today, Lord we are blue!

Let not another day go by that we fail to show we care
as we go our way, and show our appreciation to those still there
in our highways and byways of the journey along the way.
Hello my friend, I love you my spouse, how are you today!

Grief for those that find the end of their life's voyage
for we too will find our way too to the life's ending stage.
Cherish every moment, love like you have never loved before,
relish your friendships, make time before you exit life's door.

Our Odyssey family lost one of its own this day
take a moment to reflect and then to pray
for all those we have lost, but also for those still here
for life is fleeting and we care for those we hold so dear.

Our Brother Kris has gone on before us and is in a better place
His friendships and love will forever be his remaining trace.
Let us raise our goblets high as we celebrate our bother Kris
and show our our gratefulness to the one we sorely miss.

This is beautiful, so sad, but beautiful. You touched on SO many important things that everyone should really take into consideration on a daily basis. I liked this passage a lot.
'Grief for those that find the end of their life's voyage
for we too will find our way too to the life's ending stage.
Cherish every moment, love like you have never loved before,
relish your friendships, make time before you exit life's door.'

The last line in particular was very clever and heartfelt.
Great write.

So very endearing and sweet. Another writer on this website has just lost a loved one. Her poems deserve recognition as well. Her name is Sheila in my friends section.

Your poem flowed very nicely and brought out the shared love for Kris. Very, very nice.

Oh, how sweet and heartfelt. Very nicely done. I really enjoyed the fact that it rhymed, but the rhyming didn't come off as forced or contrite.
