FADINGA Poem by luaand fading and fadingso few
people talk to me anymore it is
like I have disappeared
s l
o w l y
maybe I
haven’t disappeared completely if I
vanished swallowed
by thin air you
might notice me more maybe
you would miss me my
absence residing inside you a little
piece of emptiness of
longing no
I must
be disappearing as each
day fades into a
relic into a
distant memory so do I so do we
as I
become a blemish on your past do you
ever stop and
wonder whether
I was just a part of your imagination a game
you played with yourself
but I am
real over
here slowly
fading as if
the sun, ordered by the universe, the creator is
focusing all its attention onto me washing
away the colour I once had I once
gave to you what we
once shared it is
fading
when I
look down at
myself when I
look down I see nothing but an empty
pair of shoes my hands
hold nothing touch
nothing for they
have dissipated back into space, time recycled
by the universe
and what
is left of me what am
I doing I am
just floating just
fading disappearing
