Here and Now

Here and Now

A Poem by Onyxx Eternal
"

poetry by me.

"

Now.

As the sun sets, stealing away the waning warmth it has afforded

us these past few months. Now as the gentle light bathes the

naked, drying branches of the once magnificent trees

I share their bar longing for your touch.

I, to, reach out in desparation unveiled.

My roots and limbs stretched to the utmost degree, reaching out for you

Yearning for signs of life, and love in the growing twilight.

Beckoning you, my beloved, beseeching you, sustain me once again.

In the chill ushered in by the darkness, the cruel winds scatter the peices of me

that I would rather entrust to you, now strewn upon the ground to rot

thier purposes going unfulfilled.

If only

The longing of my heart could summon you to my side

Then, would I be spared the vision of your retreating form, tucking yourself behind my horizion.

Into the presence of others who, surely need you as much as I do.

Yet you must know, that whenever you leave me

A bit of the frigid winter air comes in and takes your place next to my heart

It is my only companion until your glorious return.
