Eternally a Child

Eternally a Child

A Poem by Lunar Lightning

You look the part of an adult

Save for your juvinile dress

Yet no matter how old you get

You cannot play the part

Would it kill you to at least pretend

If only to make yourself less of a pest

Your immaturity brings them down

And slowly they forget how to grow up

For now you are popular

But this is only high school

Those around you will grow

Their eyes will open at last

You wil be a mere child in an adult's world

Lost and humiliated you will seak your previous fame

Finding nothing put a game of pretend

Poor child eternally

The way you wrote this poem goes hand in hand with my perception of "teens" as how I view them in high school. It's ridiculous how they act, and think of themselves and treat others.

I'm glad you wrote "Eternally a Child."
Because truly in essence that's how a whole lot of them remain - totally immature!

Taking a wild guess from your poetry ;].
I'm assuming you wrote this from your experience in high school, and other teens.
