Poor Grown Up Girl

Poor Grown Up Girl

A Poem by Lunar Lightning
"

This is actually a song written for a close friend of mine.... I hope you like it

"

She sits in the back of the class room

Eyes on a book beyond her years

She thinks about things that shouldn't cross a teenage girl's mind

She knows that fantasy is the farthest thing from reality

So she pushes it away

When the time comes and everyone is hanging out

She sits against a wall silently

Watching everyone else be young

That poor grown up girl

Oh how rare it is to befriend her

To know more that what's on the outside

Oh how hard it is to break though her barrier

To find what she's trying to hide

To try to save the child that lies within her

When so quickly she dies

You can't help but pity

That poor grown up girl

Too young to experience the world

Yet too old to run around and play pretend

Too respectful to gossip

Yet too human to not judge

Too easy to pity

That poor grown up girl

Everyone knows a grown up girl.... I think it's time that each of them get help with being young while they have the chance.... You know... I cried when I wrote this.... I hope it brings that much emotion to you as well...

wow. I really like this. I cried too. Its sad that some people are forced to grow up faster than others...to deal with adult things when they should be laughing away at some silly joke. i say let kids be kids and adults, adults.

Ah, the loss of youth. You portrayed the feeling of this event very well.
Fav lines:

Losing your childhood is never fun.
I think this poem really shows that.

This is a beautifull poem. This actually reminds me of me a lot. This poem does have a lot of emotion and so much truth for too many kids out there.
Amazingly written love!
