The Answer is, NO!

The Answer is, NO!

A Poem by Mary

Can you hear me?

I scream.

My cheeks turn bright red,

My fists clench,

And I feel my eyes start to glisten

Regretfully with angry tears.

I start to pound,

On the invisible wall of your stupidity.

My fists reverberating off it

The sound like the empty promises

You spew at me.

My mouth is caught up in confusion

I’m too busy pronouncing my last “NO

To start my next one,

Why is that always my answer to you?

I miss the good old days,

When I knew worlds like:

Hello, maybe, yes, and

Even I love you.

Now I’m just

Trying to get away from you.

No, don’t blame me,

No, how could any of that possibly be my fault,

No, I will not go out to eat with you!

Please listen for once.

Until you start to hear

My now very annoying high pitch screaming voice,

I will be over there.

Eating a lot of carbs,

That you will yell at me for later.
