Twin of Darkness

Twin of Darkness

A Poem by Mary

There is something following me,

Everyday

Everywhere

I cannot find peace from this eternal retreat.

Reality and my dream world collide,

Creating something most unkind.

Where should I hide?

There is not a place on this earth

Where darkness and light do not reside,

So it will always be there

Attached to me without any binding.

My other half some would say,

Or my demonic stalker,

But can they know

The lengths I’d go

To be rid of my childhood nightmare?

So for now I just wait,

In the dark,

Never letting my fears take flight,

To feed the shadow monster.

Love the eerie feel to this. I always read more then once and you've really captured the essence of fear in this one. Nice work.

Darkness will end when the sun rises.

This is great, dark, haunting with a nice dose of chill in it. Spooky too, it could just about be real, I think.
