Shattering MomentA Poem by MaryAll my thoughts focused, My mind at ease, I just what I wanted to be, Fine. I was not thinking of you, I was not dreaming of you, I was not crying because of you, I was free of your power. But then it happened. I saw you. You where leaving, And I had just arrived. What a silly twist of fate, A pleasant surprise. Our eyes met. My breath caught. And a smile formed on my lips. I was yours again. You didn’t even say hi, But you greeted me in your own way. And I couldn’t help but laugh. You filled my thoughts, And stole my soul. Only around you I felt whole. But I knew it wouldn’t last. You would soon become past, Or so I hoped. Because you, No matter how much I wanted, Where not mine. So I lied to myself, Every second after. But all I could remember, Was my spontaneous laughter, And your blue eyes. © 2010 MaryAuthor's Note
