Rain

Rain

A Poem by Mary

Rain

I sometimes wonder about the rain.

The way it sparkles as falls,

Like a gathering of crystals on the ground,

Then a disappearing act as it becomes one with the world.

I taste its essence and smile.

Feeling it sink into my flesh,

Dancing on my eyelids,

And talking with my soul,

We become friends in seconds.

What things I think of in the rain,

I pretend I am a dancer of the highest quality.

My feet slide in tune with the world.

And joy fills the air.

Oh how I wish I could take these feelings with me.

The love,

The laughter,

The belonging.

But I must leave them as the sky dries,

Returning to reality.

But I keep in mind

That I will see another rainy day,

The sky sure does love to cry.

I just love the rain... I found this to be a very interesting introspective of rain... I find it to be a self cleansing of the Earth that in turn makes me feel refreshed... so maybe that crying thing is a release of emotions by Mother Nature... I throughly enjoyed this piece.
